Michael J. Lombardo,84, of Plainfield passed away September 14, 2011 at Forest Creek Village in Indianapolis. He was born July 17, 1927 in Cleveland, OH to the late James and Lucille Lombardo. He was a WW II Army veteran. Mike was a 33 year member of the Teamsters Union, local #135. He had worked for Mohawk Trucking in Cleveland and Navaho Trucking in Cleveland and Indianapolis. He retired from Yellow Freight in 1989 after 16 years. His memberships include El-Bethel Baptist Church and the Teamsters Retirement Club. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemarie (Kutay) Lombardo. Funeral services will be Friday, September 16 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service. Additional calling will be Thursday, September 15 from 5:00-8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Della E. (Butler) Lombardo; daughters, Christine M. (Michael) Curtis, Patty A. & Renee S. Lombardo, Annette L.(John) Such and Jennifer M. Lombardo; brother, James Lombardo; sisters, Jennette Lombardo and Theresa Kuehn; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
