James Richard Price, 73, of Plainfield, passed away at his home on September 4, 2011. He was born on September 9, 1937 to the late Paris and Katherine Price in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Washington High School in 1955 and married the love of his life, Sandy Stogsdill on November 30, 1956. He worked for Allison Gas Turbine 37 years, retiring in 1992 as Superintendent of Quality Inspection.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandy and by his three children: Cindy Highberg, Jim (Kim) Price and Lisa (Ken) Mitchell ; eight grandchildren: Heather (Mike) Pierce, Jimmy Fish, Kenny Mitchell, Mikayla (Jeremy) Sims, Lindsay Highberg, Karissa, Kimberly and Zachary Price and two great grandchildren: Sophia and Nathaniel Pierce; and a brother, Perry Price. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and John Price. James enjoyed spending time with his family, playing card games, working in the yard and watching horse racing. He was a role model for all that knew him. His love, support, leadership, guidance, quick wit and sense of humor will be missed and will serve as lasting memories forever. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday September 7, 2011 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
