Helen M. Ellis

Helen M. Ellis, 97, of Plainfield, passed away July 1, 2011. She was born February 10, 1914 to the late Frank and Esther (Walton) Gibbs in Danville, IN. She worked as a teller for First National Bank in Plainfield for 20 years retiring in 1980. She loved cooking her specialty pie baking which she won several prizes including 3 Grand Champions at the Beasley's Orchard in Danville. She also loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Jerry W. (Susan) Ellis; a daughter, Sue (Forester) Hatfield; a brother, Frank Gibbs Jr.; a sister, Dorothy Gibbs;6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by aher husband, Harold F. "Jack" Ellis. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 12 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
