John W. Albertson

John W. Albertson, 94, of Plainfield, passed away May 21, 2011. He was born September 4, 1916 to the late John T. and Emma Florence (Roe) Albertson in Hendricks County. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and participated in the Normandy Invasion and received the bronze star and purple heart. He was former owner of Albertson & Son Inc as a general contractor for 40 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church and the VFW. He is survived by a son, John P. Albertson; a daughter, Rebecca (Bill) Burtt; a sister, Ruth Trent; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma (Ludlow) Albertson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday, May 27, 2011 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday May 26. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be sent to Seasons Hospice Foundation, 8350 S. Emerson Ave., Suite 140, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
