Kenneth A. Kersey, 79, of Plainfield, passed away April 12, 2011. He was born March 30, 1932 to the late Virgil and Gladys (Melik) Kersey in Washburn, ND. He was a 1950 graduate of Amo High School, and attended Tarleton State College in Texas, and a graduate of Indiana Business College where he played basketball for four years. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and traveling with his wife and family. He also was an Eagle Scout and was a Scout Master. He worked 35 years at Ford Motor Co. retiring as superintendent in 1987. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, and the Plainfield Eagles #3207. He was a member of the St. Michael's and Ford Motor Bowling League and on Feb. 20, 1964 he bowled a perfect game of 300. He was a loving husband and devoted father and is survived by his wife Carol (Cambron) Kersey, (whom he married on February 14, 1954); two sons, William (Tanya) and Robert (Tia) Kersey; two daughters, Kathryn Kersey McCoy and Karen Rhoades; a brother, Vernon (Cleo) Kersey; three sisters, Bertie Lou Duffy, Marianne (Neal) Banton, and Anita (Alan) Drake; 11 grandchildren, Gamble, Cecily, Holly, and Emma Kersey, Matthew and Cody McCoy, TJ, Dusty (Bre), Casey, CJ and Chance Rhoades and Arsen (Billie) Ablaev. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Entombment, Crown Hill Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Plainfield Healthcare & the Orchard Drive Unit for their exceptional care given to Kenneth (Daddy) Kersey.
