Kenneth (Jay) Clapp, 65, of Plainfield, passed away February 28, 2011. He was born April 4, 1945 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Lloyd and Myrtle Clapp. Jay was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and earned his undergraduate and a masters degree from Indiana State University. He retired in 2007 after 40 years as a teacher and coach at Plainfield High School. He was a member of Plainfield Christian Church. His interests included fishing and playing golf with his fellow teaching buddies. Funeral services will be Friday, March 4, at 10:30 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Thursday, March 3, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Coy) Clapp; son, Robert Brandon (Samantha) Clapp; daughters, Allison (Kirk) Moyes and Heather (Mark) Cero; step sons, Scott (Lindsey) and Bill (Sarah) Dillon; brother, Bob (Bea) Clapp; 6 grandchildren.
