Ronald C. Piel

Ronald C. Piel, 79, of Plainfield, passed away February 24, 2011 in his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 21, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Clarence and Lena Piel. He retired in 1994 after 27 years in the shipping department at Ford Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Piel. Ronald attended St. Susanna Catholic Church. Funeral services will be Monday, February 28, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Sunday, February 27, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Piel; son, Marvin Piel; daughter, Nancy Scott; step daughters, Mary Galyan and Dr. Suzanne Hand; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 4 step grandchildren.
