Geneva L. Groninger

Geneva L. Groninger, 102, of Plainfield, passed away December 20, 2010. She was born May 27, 1908 in Miami County, IN to the late Donald and Nona Burch. She was a homemaker, professional volunteer and seamstress. Her memberships include Plainfield Womans Club, Thursday Club, Bunco Club, Methodist Hospital White Cross Guild and Plainfield United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, December 23, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Galen "Tiny" Groninger; daughter, Gloria Kays; granddaughter, Virginia Ware; great granddaughters, Tori and Taylor Holzknecht. Survivors include sons, Richard D. (Jayne) and Donald L. Groninger; daughters, Norma J. (Bill) Ware and Judy A. (Tom) Holzknecht; brother, Gene Burch; sister, Nina DeFord; grandchildren, Mik, Steve, Tim, Dan, Jim Groninger, David Kays, Tommy Holzknecht, Gail Dixon, Kathy Edie, Lisa Payne, Amber Mead, Shelly Tomlinson and Beth Whitman; 31 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the church.
